(what's this?)
Why Passwords? From time to time we or people we sell for will want to reserve the purchase of a coin for only certain people. We do this by password protecting the item for a period of time. This enables the owner, seller, or us to provide early access to a sale for members only, VIPs, reservation lists, etc. When an item is password protected, it typically states on the item's page when the password will be removed. We do not supply passwords by request, you must have received the password through a direct notice to participate in a password protected sale.

March 2023 - The Sight of Urania

Design notes from the artist:  Chris Mackey

There are times when you're caching where you just seem to know exactly where to look.  Almost like you're being guided by a sixth sense. Every group seems to have that cacher who always knows where they're going, what they're looking for and where to find it regardless of the cache type or terrain.

The ancient Greeks believed this was the influence of the Goddess Urania.  She was revered as the goddess of navigation and like modern day GPS units, she knew the placement of all things in relation to the stars and quasars of the heavens.  Her sight was so fine that she could see into all things down to the very elements of air, earth, water and fire itself to the smallest of particles.  A vision so fine it was considered prophetic even.

This month's offering is a tribute to navigation, seeking the unknown and being guided by your geo-senses (or Urania's blessings if you like) to finding those most challenging of caches.  Navigation by the stars goes back beyond even ancient Greece, but is paramount to our modern day GPS technology that still relies on those heavenly bodies.  We let it guide our feet through all manner of terrain, by air through flight, below the earth itself, under water and under the blazing fire of the sun.  As amazing as it is though, it can only get you so close and then it's up to you and your finely tuned geo-senses and maybe, just maybe, a bit of luck from Urania to help you sense that elusive cache.
