(what's this?)
Why Passwords? From time to time we or people we sell for will want to reserve the purchase of a coin for only certain people. We do this by password protecting the item for a period of time. This enables the owner, seller, or us to provide early access to a sale for members only, VIPs, reservation lists, etc. When an item is password protected, it typically states on the item's page when the password will be removed. We do not supply passwords by request, you must have received the password through a direct notice to participate in a password protected sale.

February 2024 - Crossroads

Design notes from the artist:  Chris Mackey

When you're on the trail, hunting a cache, or just trying to decide if you have the time and energy to get out and play, you're often at a crossroads.  A time of decision.  A million little factors come into play and sometimes, it's not always an easy decision.  One more mile?  10 more minutes of searching?  Just one cache before I face my chores?  Sometimes we can all use a little help.

The ancient Greeks believed there existed a goddess who provided devine guidance at these moments of facing a crossroads.  She was a protector of those on the hunt whether traveling on the earth, over the waters, or even in the sky above.  A torch-bearer who's light shone in the dark of night and the murkiest of times to make decisions.

Hecate, the Goddess of Perception, sometimes known as Trivia ("three ways"), was regularly symbolized by her repetition of threes.  She presided over air, earth, and water.  She had three faces as maiden, mother, and crone.  She faced three directions at once to keep a sharp eye for dangers.  She carried three tools: an Athame (a ritual dagger used to focus thought), the Keys to the underworld (keys to unlock hidden ways), and her torch to provide divine illumination (and sometimes just practical illumination).  Her light shone in the night in the Waxing, Waning and Full faces of the moon.

Sometimes, making a decision is a simple as the flip of a coin.  Sometimes, we can use a little guidance.  This is a coin offers ancient blessings of protection and wisdom in choosing the right road when that times comes.  What might it offer for you when you face your next crossroad?
